Relationships are foundational to learning. Dr. James Comer, a leading African American child psychiatrist, and educational reformer, proclaimed, “No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship.” Research from the University of Chicago highlights that sustained and supportive relationships between students and adults are required to create and ensure the most valuable learning experiences for youth development.
CCIE facilitators place a priority on developing a strong culture that emphasizes relationships with students and facilitates a healthy community among peers. CCIE facilitators inspires, challenges, and prepares students to impact their communities and the world as consultants, designers, problem-solvers, critical-thinkers, and innovators.
“Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”– Rita Pierson, TedTalk
